How to read Match-Lens

Every column, mark and button on the board, explained.

The board

Three boards, one set of choices

In-Play, Schedule and Results stand in the top bar, and what you set on one holds on the others - the search, the leagues you removed, your stars. Schedule looks forward: Today, Tomorrow or a day you pick, carrying the prices the market is showing before kick-off. Results looks back the same three ways, and the Older field under its list reaches years further. Search, beside them, finds any team or competition we hold, on today’s board or not.

The rhythm

Every statistic and price on the in-play board keeps refreshing while the match is on. In every stat pair the left number is the home side, the right the away side.

S · K · LSKL

The three 1X2 prices: Starting (when the book opened the market), Kickoff (the last price before play) and Live (right now). Read top to bottom, they are the market’s story of the match.

Current lines

The in-play Asian handicap and over/under goal line, moving with the game. A dash means the book is not pricing that market at the moment.

Heat15 - 513 - 2

A pale wash marks a clear edge in a stat pair; the dense red marks outright dominance. Colour follows one side’s share of the pair, with a small-numbers floor so 1-0 never shouts.

Search & LEAGUES

The search field narrows the board to a team or competition as you type. The LEAGUES panel removes competitions you never want to see - the −n badge counts what is hidden - and its stars make a competition a favourite.

Narrowing the board

On In-Play the first pill - Full, 1st half, 2nd half - keeps only the matches in the part of the game you choose. FILTERS holds the live situations - an even score, the favourite behind, one-sided domination, a hard pre-match drop, a LENS flag alight, a match you have noted, your favourites - each with its own count, and every one you arm has to hold at once. Its last row keeps only the matches whose competition has a table, or only those without one. Clear all carries the number of things you have changed and undoes them in one click.

The footer clock, and honest empties

The foot of the board carries Last valid data and the time it was taken. The top bar stays bare while the board is well, and wears a chip only when it is not - catching up, or reconnecting. Dashes and quiet lines are deliberate: a market the book does not price or a table nobody keeps says so plainly. Nothing here invents a number.

Sort & pin - every stance

TIME - three stances

Click TIME once for the ★ stance: your favourites - starred matches and every match of a starred league - float to the top, with the clock order running inside each block. Click again for plain clock order, a third time to reverse it. A fourth click starts the cycle over.

LEAGUE - two stances

Click LEAGUE for competition cards, A to Z with your starred competitions pinned first. Click it again for the same order laid FLAT - one list, a divider line where each competition ends, and an A-Z tag on the header so you know which stance you are in.

Stat columns - two stances

Every stat header (attacks, dangerous attacks, shots, corners…) is a sort: one click orders by the biggest gap between the two sides, a second click flips it. Click TIME or LEAGUE to return to an ordinary board.

LAST n MIN

The dangerous-attacks column carries its own window - 5 to 25 minutes. Every row’s recent-danger pair reads over the window you pick here.

Your own column order

Drag any stat heading sideways and the board keeps your order in this browser. A click still sorts - a drag only begins once the pointer moves.

When the market moved

The odds column draws three moments: S the first price seen, K the last one before kickoff, L the price now. Where the K price came IN from where it opened, the field behind it warms - orange for a move, deepening toward red the harder it was. It reads the change in chance rather than the change in the number, so a long price sliding a little is left alone and a short one moving is not.

A line that moved

On the handicap and the goal line, a move of the LINE itself colours the line rather than the prices beside it. A price belongs to the line it was quoted on, so two prices either side of a line change are two different bets and there is no drop to show.

The Schedule board sorts too

A fixture has no statistics yet, so its head reads 1X2 odds, O/U odds and Max drop. Max drop orders by the biggest shortening between a market’s opening price and its last word before kickoff; TIME and LEAGUE cycle there exactly as they do on In-Play.

Stars & marks

The mark slot - three states

One square at the row’s end cycles green → blue → off. A mark means whatever you decide it means; marked matches alert you and can filter the board. Marks follow your account to every device.

The match star

The star beside the mark slot makes THIS one match a favourite: its score turns gold, it floats to the top with your favourites, and its news joins the ★ notification stream. Stars sync across your devices and quietly expire two weeks on.

The league star

Star a whole competition from a league band, the league window or the LEAGUES panel: its section pins to the top of the League view and every one of its matches joins the ★ stream.

The header filters

Above the row controls sit their filters. The colour box cycles four ways - everything marked → green only → blue only → off - and the star beside it narrows the board to starred matches. Together they show the union of both.

FILTERS → FAVOURITES

The FILTERS menu’s FAVOURITES chip counts every match that is yours - starred itself or in a starred league - and narrows the board to them with one click.

The favourites drawer

The ★ at the head of the control line opens your starred matches - the ones being played first, then the ones about to start - and it opens them on whichever board you are standing on. The star is gold while one of them is being played.

Alerts & the bell

What speaks

A marked or starred match announces its kick-off, its goals, a score correction, a red card and full time. One thing speaks for ANY match on the board, marked or not: a team down to nine men.

The four streams

The bell’s tray keeps 24 hours of news, and the four icons in its header are the streams - green marks, blue marks, ★ favourites, and red for the whole-board events. Click one to mute that stream; nothing is deleted, and your choice follows your account everywhere. The red card starts on your marked and starred matches only; a click mutes it, the next brings the full watch, and a third returns it to your matches.

The standing red banner

A second red card raises a banner that stays until you close it - a reload is not an acknowledgement. Closing or clearing on one device clears it on all of them. As a push it goes out only before minute 81 - a late red buzzes nobody, though an open board still tells. When the red chip is set to your matches only, red cards come like any other notification - with the goals and full time of the matches you marked or starred - and nothing stays on screen.

Push - per device

Turn on at the bottom of the tray puts these on the device you are on, even with the browser closed. Each device has its own switch. Any phone can add Match-Lens to its Home Screen; on iPhone that step must come first - a Safari tab cannot receive push.

The LENS

What it does

LENS narrows every stat pair to a recent window - the last 5 to 25 minutes, since the last goal, or the second half. The large pair is the window; the small pair beneath it is the full match. Turning LENS off returns the plain board.

⇄ Reversal⇄

One side was clearly ahead before the window, and the side that was behind wins the window - the game may be turning. Any of the five can raise it: attacks, dangerous attacks, shots, shots on target and corners, at any window.

▲ Surge▲

One team piles up a lot in a short spell, well above its own pace before it, so a side that attacks all game long does not surge by staying the same.

▽ Gone quiet▽

A window with nothing in it, in a match whose own pace promised events. A stat falling silent in a busy game is the plainest way a spell can look different. An empty window is not the same as a missing one.

The edge strip

A thin coloured strip on a row’s left edge means at least one flag is alight inside. Hover any flagged pair and a card shows the exact numbers behind the verdict - the counts before and inside the window, and the mark they crossed. Most stats stay quiet by design; a rare flag is the point.

The match window

Comparison

Each team’s recent matches as rows, stats reading HOME-AWAY aligned with the score; ?-? means that stat was never recorded. Views: All games, Mutual opponents (meetings paired by rank), H2H. Chips narrow by competition; Load more walks further back.

Odds pagesSK

FULL TIME, HALF TIME and CORNERS pages under the bookmaker strip. In every panel the S and K rows are the bookends - the market’s opening price and its last word before kickoff - and the table below is the live tick history with minute and score.

The shirt on the board

A small shirt at the end of a match’s row means both lineups are announced; a click on it opens them over the board without leaving it. A red dot on the shirt means one team is without two or more of its regulars - players who started most of its last ten league matches.

Lineups

Once the teams are announced the match has a Lineups tab: both starting elevens side by side with shirt numbers, each formation when it is given, and both benches. A substitution marks both players with its minute - OUT and IN - and the regulars a team is without are listed with how many of those ten matches they started. The lineups stay on the match after full time.

Live stats, the wave & the story

The pressure wave draws the balance of danger per minute - above the midline the home side pushes, below it the away side. Under it, the match’s story is written as it happens: goals, cards and the moments the balance turned.

Table & Insight

Table shows official standings where the provider keeps them - many competitions simply have none. Insight is computed from our own decade of results: the small n badges say the sample, and a muted season column means too few matches to trust yet.

Notes

The last page is Notes: one for the match, one for its competition, one for each side. The pencil on a board row opens it straight away and stands amber once something is written; noted teams and competitions wear a small amber dot wherever they appear, and the FILTERS menu’s My notes chip narrows the board to everything you have written on.

Mark & star from here too

The window’s own mark slot and star sit under its controls - the same three-state cycle and the same gold star the board rows carry.
